Travis Flores, a 2010 infielder from Mesa Desert Ridge High School, pounded out 17 homers to claim the championship in the 2010 Power Showcase High School Home Run Derby.
The event, held at Tropicana Field in Florida, was attended by 75 of the nation's top power prospects. Flores rallied with 8 homers in the championship round to take the title. He was joined by fellow Arizona players D.J. Peterson (Gilbert), TC Mark (Pinnacle), Ryan Casillas (Hamilton) and Cole Gleason (Red Mountain).
Flores became the only Arizona player to win the event. Horizon's Tommy Joseph took 7th place in 2009.
